ABOUT THE JOB
NRP Contractors is looking for an Assistant Construction Superintendent with experience building garden, wrap and or podium style multifamily apartment units. As a Assistant Superintendent, you will assist the Project Superintendent in scheduling and supervising on-site subcontractors and the overall construction process of a multifamily apartment unit project in the Austin, Texas area.
The Assistant Superintendent position will involve:
Assisting the project superintendent in managing and supervising all subcontractors
Assisting in the processing of daily field reports, job photos, and invoices and forwarding them to corporate office
Performing consistent quality-control checks
As an Assistant Superintendent, you will oversee all aspects of your assigned construction projects and ensure that work proceeds smoothly, on schedule and within required project specifications.
Your duties as an Assistant Superintendent will include:
Assisting the project superintendent in scheduling all day to day activities and maintaining a project schedule using Microsoft Project Software
Effectively communicating daily between Project Superintendent, Project Management Team and Subcontractors
Walking project and units for completion, generating and managing punch lists and ensuring work is completed in accordance with plans and in a timely manner
As an Assistant Superintendent, you must have exceptional attention to detail and the ability to simultaneously keep track of a variety of tasks. It will also be important for your role as an Assistant Superintendent to have excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to function well as part of a team.
Specific qualifications for the Assistant Superintendent position include:
Prior experience in multifamily construction projects is required
Bachelor’s degree preferred, ideally in Construction Science or Building Construction
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook; proficiency with Microsoft Project or other construction scheduling software is preferred
Strong organizational skills
