Platform Lofts

Platform Lofts is a 204-unit affordable apartment community targeting families earning at or below 60% of the area median income. The apartment community features seven 3-story residential buildings plus a freestanding community building with a leasing office and resident amenities. The construction style is wood frame garden-style walk-up with surface parking. Platform Lofts is strategically located less than a mile from numerous retail options such as Save-A-Lot Grocery and Dollar Tree as well as Martin Luther King Jr. Middle School. In addition, residents enjoy convenient access to the light rail extension with the Old Concord Blue Line station directly across the street and five stops north of Uptown. The community also features a 10-foot wide multi-use path along the Old Concord Road frontage, connecting Platform Lofts to a larger network of trails. The multi-use path is part of the 26-mile Cross Charlotte Trail (XCLT) that stretches from the City of Pineville through Center City and on to the UNC Charlotte campus and Cabarrus County Line. The combination of the Blue Line and XCLT provides residents with convenient access to neighborhoods, businesses, and recreational opportunities across Charlotte without having to rely on a car.

Platform Lofts Exterior

It's [Platform Lofts is] ideal. I think this is what we're talking about in terms of bringing affordable housing closer to rail lines, with the ability to access jobs, amenities, entertainment, education.
