Back to NRP Leadership

Jennifer Baus joined The NRP Group in 2005 as a Project Manager for affordable housing development and after steady growth in scope and responsibility, in 2022, she was elevated to Principal and Executive Team Member.

In this expanded role, Baus now directs all activities related to horizontal and vertical design and entitlements at The NRP Group, in addition to overseeing all development project management.

In her 18-year career at The NRP Group, Baus has established a reputation for technical competence, elite problem solving, strong project management skills, and building high-performance teams energized by active leadership and open channels of communication. In 2017, she received NRP’s highly coveted Alan F. Scott Developer’s Award for above-and-beyond performance, impact, and contribution.

Baus has been a leader in expanding diversity and inclusion efforts at NRP, having founded the Women’s Inclusion Network (WIN) in 2018 with the goal of hiring, developing, and advancing female talent at The NRP Group. Through innovative educational panels, event sponsorships (including co-founding NRP’s annual Impact Day), and creative communications, the WIN group has been the leading force of cultural change and advancement of diversity and inclusion at NRP. In 2021, she was named a Woman of Influence by GlobeSt.com.

In addition to her work at NRP, Baus is actively involved in several organizations within the Cleveland community. In 2013, she completed the YWCA’s Women’s Leadership Initiative (Momentum) program, served on YWCA’s Advisory Council, was named a Woman of Professional Excellence, and now serves on their Independence Place board. Additionally, she led the design and construction of an outdoor classroom for their Early Learning Center. Baus has also helped lead fundraising efforts for the YWCA, American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women (as an executive team member and Open Your Heart Chair), Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, and Muscular Dystrophy Association. She has also served for many years on the Cornell Alumni Admissions Network advisory committee and has been a guest presenter for several professional organizations and conferences/podcasts including CREW, Urban Land Institute, NAHB, OHFA, and Key Bank.

Baus worked in the environmental engineering field in New York and Ohio from 1997 to 2005. During that time, she became a professional engineer in the state of Ohio and a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional. The American Academy of Environmental Engineers admitted her as an Associate, and she graduated with a 4.0 from Case Western Reserve University through their Master of Engineering program. In 2007, she earned a certificate in Real Estate Development and Finance from Cleveland State University. She has also completed certifications in project management, HAZWOPER, and confined space training. Baus holds a Bachelor of Science in civil and environmental engineering from Cornell University.

In her free time, Jennifer enjoys spending her days with her family and son.
