Sophia Knight joined NRP in 2017 and now serves as Senior Vice President and Deputy General Counsel.

Knight oversees all legal aspects of the company's acquisition development projects, providing expert counsel on land acquisition, debt and equity financing, and complex public-private partnerships. Since joining NRP in 2017, she has played a key role in closing over 100 projects representing over 30,000 apartment units. Knight provides a deep understanding of the industry, strong business acumen, and a proactive approach to legal challenges, ensuring the successful execution of NRP’s development strategy.

A recognized leader within NRP, Knight chairs the Women's Inclusion Network (WIN) Committee on Policy, Action, Equality, and Visibility, championing the advancement of women in the company.

Knight brings over a decade of legal experience to her current role. Prior to NRP, she practiced commercial real estate law at a regional Pittsburgh law firm. She holds a BS in Management with Distinction from Purdue University and a JD with a Business Law and Financial Services concentration from Suffolk University Law School. She resides in Pittsburgh with her husband and three children.
